What is AquaUnity?
AquaUnity is a culturally tailored water safety program designed for adults born overseas. It provides essential education, practical skills, and in-water learning to help participants feel safe and confident around Queensland’s pools, beaches, and waterways.
Queensland’s aquatic lifestyle is a big part of everyday life, but for many new arrivals, unfamiliar environments, language barriers, and limited swimming experience can make joining in feel challenging or unsafe. Aquaunity bridges this gap through accessible, welcoming, and culturally aware sessions that build both confidence and community.
Together, we’re creating a safer, more confident, and more inclusive Queensland – where everyone can enjoy the water.

Facility Involvement
The AquaUnity Program empowers aquatic facilities and swim schools to play an active role in building a more inclusive, culturally aware, and skilled aquatic industry.
By engaging with the program’s three target areas, venues can:
– Strengthen community connections
– Enhance staff capability
– Help ensure that every Queenslander, regardless of background, can enjoy water safely and confidently
